The terms and conditions governing your use of Ṣọ Email Security.
Welcome to Ṣọ Email Security (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using our platform.
01Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Ṣọ Email Security, you agree to abide by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
02Description of Services
Ṣọ Email Security provides email security, dark web breach monitoring, meeting security, and email management solutions through browser extensions, mobile applications (iOS and Android), desktop applications, and related services.
2.1 Platforms
Our services are available on:
- ▸Chrome browser extension (Chrome Web Store)
- ▸iOS mobile application (Apple App Store)
- ▸Android mobile application (Google Play Store)
- ▸Desktop application (macOS and Windows)
- ▸Web dashboard (soemailsecurity.com)
2.2 Free Tier
Free users receive access to the following at no cost, with no time limit:
- ▸Email categorization and organization
- ▸AI-powered email threat analysis and security assessment
- ▸Phishing and spoofing detection
- ▸Dark web breach monitoring with email notifications
- ▸Audio deepfake detection during meetings (on-device)
- ▸Live meeting transcription (on-device)
- ▸VPN and datacenter detection during meetings
- ▸Post-meeting recap
2.3 Premium Tier
Premium subscribers receive all Free features plus:
- ▸Advanced link scanner for real-time URL security analysis
- ▸Attachment scanner for malware and threat detection
- ▸SPF/DKIM/DMARC validation for email authentication verification
- ▸Sender verification and email tracker blocking
- ▸Video deepfake detection during meetings (on-device)
- ▸Timezone mismatch alerts for meeting participants
- ▸Meeting transcript PDF export and unlimited meeting history
- ▸Custom business email on your domain (yearly plans only)
- ▸Priority customer support
2.4 Team Tier
Team subscribers receive all Premium features plus:
- ▸Team dashboard and analytics
- ▸Seat and role management with invitations
- ▸Admin controls and policy guardrails
- ▸Centralized monitoring across team members
2.5 Enterprise Tier
Enterprise customers receive all Team features plus:
- ▸Unlimited seats
- ▸SSO / SAML authentication
- ▸Custom API integrations
- ▸Dedicated onboarding and account support
2.6 Meeting Security Features
Meeting security features (deepfake detection, transcription, VPN detection) operate entirely on your device using locally-run AI models. No audio, video, or transcript data is transmitted to our servers. These features are available during video calls on Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams via the Chrome extension.
2.7 Dark Web Breach Monitoring
Breach monitoring checks your registered email address against known data breach databases via a third-party API (Have I Been Pwned). Only your email address is submitted for the check. We never submit, store, or have access to your passwords. Breach scan results (which breaches your email appeared in and what types of data were exposed) are stored on our servers to provide you with alerts and dashboard access.
Beta/Preview Features. We may offer features identified as alpha, beta, trial, preview, early-access, or similar (“Beta Features”). Beta Features are provided as-is, may be suspended at any time, and are excluded from uptime or support commitments.
03Account Registration and Eligibility
- ▸You must be at least 13 years old to use our services.
- ▸You must be at least 18 years old to subscribe to Pro tier services.
- ▸To access certain features, you may be required to register for an account.
- ▸You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- ▸You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- ▸You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
- ▸If you are acting on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization.
04Subscription Terms (Paid Tiers)
4.1 Payment and Billing
- ▸Premium, Team, and Enterprise subscriptions require payment of applicable fees.
- ▸Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually).
- ▸All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as specified in our refund policy.
- ▸We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days advance notice.
- ▸Failed payments may result in service suspension or downgrade to Free tier.
4.2 Auto-Renewal; Notices; Cancellation
- ▸Paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- ▸For annual plans, we will send a renewal reminder to your account email 30–45 days before renewal, with the renewal date, amount, and how to cancel.
- ▸You may cancel at any time in Account Settings → Billing.
- ▸Cancellation is effective at the end of the current billing period and you will receive an email confirmation.
- ▸We do not charge any cancellation fees. Continued use after a renewal date constitutes authorization for the renewal charge, subject to applicable law.
4.3 Free Trial
- ▸We offer a 7-day free trial of our Premium package to new users.
- ▸The free trial includes full access to all Premium features: advanced link and attachment scanning, SPF/DKIM/DMARC validation, video deepfake detection, email tracker blocking, and priority support.
- ▸No payment information is required to start your free trial.
- ▸Free trials automatically downgrade to free accounts unless the user upgrades before the trial period ends.
- ▸Only one free trial per user account is permitted.
4.4 Refunds
Fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as expressly stated here:
- ▸If we materially reduce a core paid feature for the remainder of your paid term, you may request a pro-rata refund.
- ▸If we terminate your subscription for reasons other than your breach, we will refund the unused portion of prepaid fees.
Nothing in this Section limits statutory rights.
05Acceptable Use Policy
5.1 Permitted Use
- ▸Use Ṣọ Email Security only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
- ▸Use the service to enhance your email security and productivity.
- ▸Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
5.2 Prohibited Activities
Users are prohibited from:
- ▸Engaging in any illegal activities or using the service to facilitate illegal conduct.
- ▸Attempting to breach, disable, or circumvent security or authentication measures.
- ▸Transmitting harmful code, malware, or malicious content through our services.
- ▸Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract source code.
- ▸Using the service to send spam, phishing emails, or other unsolicited communications.
- ▸Sharing account credentials or allowing unauthorized access to your account.
- ▸Interfering with or disrupting the service or servers.
- ▸Violating the privacy or security of other users.
- ▸Using the service in any way that could harm our reputation or business.
- ▸Scraping, automated harvesting, or attempting to bypass rate limits.
- ▸Accessing another person's inbox without proper authorization.
5.3 Content Responsibility
- ▸You are solely responsible for the content of your emails and communications.
- ▸We do not endorse or take responsibility for user-generated content.
- ▸You grant us necessary permissions to provide our services as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
06Intellectual Property Rights
6.1 Our Rights
- ▸Ṣọ Email Security and all related content, features, and functionality are owned by SO Labs.
- ▸Our service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
- ▸You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without permission.
6.2 Your Rights
- ▸You retain ownership of your email content and personal data.
- ▸You grant us limited rights to access and process your data as necessary to provide our services.
- ▸These rights terminate when you stop using our services or delete your account.
6.3 Feedback
If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback (“Feedback”), you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use the Feedback without restriction or obligation.
07Privacy and Data Protection
- ▸We are committed to protecting your privacy and data security.
- ▸Our collection, use, and protection of your information is governed by our Privacy Policy.
- ▸By using our services, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.
- ▸We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data.
08Service Availability and Modifications
8.1 Service Availability
- ▸We strive to provide reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.
- ▸Scheduled maintenance and updates may temporarily affect service availability.
- ▸We will provide reasonable notice of planned service interruptions when possible.
8.2 Service Modifications
- ▸We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services.
- ▸We may add, remove, or change features across Free, Premium, Team, and Enterprise tiers.
- ▸Some features depend on third-party services (e.g., email provider APIs). If a third party changes, limits, or ceases its service, we may modify or discontinue related features without liability.
- ▸Material changes to paid services will be communicated with reasonable advance notice.
- ▸Continued use after modifications constitutes acceptance of changes.
09Third-Party Integrations
9.1 Email Provider Integration
- ▸Our service integrates with various email providers (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, IMAP, etc.).
- ▸You must comply with the terms of service of your email provider.
- ▸We are not responsible for changes in third-party email provider policies or APIs.
9.2 Meeting Platform Integration
- ▸Meeting security features integrate with Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams via the Chrome extension.
- ▸All audio and video processing occurs locally on your device. No meeting content is transmitted to our servers.
- ▸Meeting transcription, deepfake analysis, and VPN detection use on-device AI models running via WebAssembly.
- ▸You must comply with the terms of service of each meeting platform and ensure you have consent from meeting participants where required by applicable law.
9.3 Breach Monitoring (Have I Been Pwned)
- ▸Dark web breach monitoring is powered by the Have I Been Pwned (HIBP) API, a third-party service operated by Troy Hunt.
- ▸Only your email address is submitted to the HIBP API. No passwords, email content, or other personal data is shared.
- ▸HIBP returns information about public data breaches associated with that email address. We store these results to provide you with alerts and dashboard access.
- ▸We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or availability of HIBP data.
9.4 Other Third-Party Services
- ▸Paid tiers may utilize third-party security services for enhanced functionality.
- ▸We are not liable for the performance or availability of third-party services.
- ▸Third-party service terms may apply to certain features; by enabling them, you agree to those terms.
9.3 Copyright Complaints
If you believe content accessible via the Services infringes your copyright, contact:

Include: your contact info, description of the work, infringing material/location, a statement of good-faith belief, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act.
10Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
10.1 Service Disclaimers
- ▸Ṣọ Email Security is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind.
- ▸We make no guarantees about service accuracy, completeness, or reliability.
- ▸Security features are designed to enhance protection but cannot guarantee complete security.
- ▸False positives and missed threats may occur despite our best efforts.
10.2 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or related to the Services is limited to the greater of:
- ▸(i) amounts you paid in the 12 months before the event; or
- ▸(ii) CAD $100.
For Free-tier users, our liability is limited to CAD $0.
The foregoing does not limit liability that cannot be limited under law (including for fraud or willful misconduct).
These limits apply in aggregate to all claims, regardless of form of action.
11Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SO Labs and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- ▸Your use of our services
- ▸Your violation of these Terms
- ▸Your violation of any rights of another party
- ▸Your email content or communications
12Termination
12.1 Termination by You
- ▸You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using account settings.
- ▸Paid subscriptions can be cancelled but remain active until the end of the billing period.
- ▸Upon termination, you lose access to all service features.
12.2 Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Ṣọ Email Security at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe:
- ▸Violates these Terms of Service
- ▸Is harmful to other users or our business
- ▸Exposes us to legal liability
- ▸Is otherwise inappropriate
12.3 Effects of Termination
- ▸Terminated accounts lose access to all features and data.
- ▸Paid subscriptions are subject to our refund policy upon termination.
- ▸Following termination, we will deactivate your account and retain limited account and billing records as required by law and our Privacy Policy. Any locally processed email content is not stored on our servers. You may request deletion of remaining personal data consistent with our Privacy Policy.
- ▸Certain provisions of these Terms survive termination.
13Dispute Resolution
13.1 Governing Law & Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada. Subject to §13.4, disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration in Calgary, Alberta, in English, under the Arbitration Act (Alberta).
13.2 Class Action Waiver
You and we agree that disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis; class actions and class arbitrations are not permitted.
13.3 Small-Claims & Injunctive Relief
Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court or seek injunctive relief in court to protect IP or prevent unauthorized access/use.
13.4 Quebec/Non-Arbitrable Consumers
If you are a consumer resident of Quebec (or another jurisdiction where arbitration/class-action waiver is not enforceable), 13.1–13.3 do not apply and the competent courts of your province have exclusive jurisdiction.
13.5 30-Day Opt-Out
You may opt out of arbitration by emailing soemailfeedback@soemailsecurity.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms; your notice must include your name, account email, and a clear statement opting out of arbitration.
14General Provisions
14.1 Changes to Terms
- ▸We may update these Terms of Service at any time.
- ▸Material changes will be communicated via email or service notifications.
- ▸Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of revised terms.
- ▸The effective date will be updated to reflect the most recent version.
14.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
14.3 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SO Labs regarding our services.
14.4 Assignment
We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms. You may not assign your rights without our written consent.
14.5 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of future enforcement of that provision.
14.6 Export Compliance
You represent that you are not located in, and will not use the Services from, any country subject to embargoes or sanctions, and you are not a denied or restricted party under applicable export laws. You will comply with all export and sanctions laws of Canada, the U.S., and other applicable jurisdictions.
14.7 Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, labor disputes, utility failures, internet or hosting outages, third-party service disruptions, or governmental actions.
14.8 Electronic Communications
We may send you service, billing, and legal notices electronically (email or in-app). You consent to receive these communications electronically.
14.9 Survival
Sections 6 (IP), 7 (Privacy), 8.2 (Service Modifications), 10 (Disclaimers/Limitation of Liability), 11 (Indemnification), 12.3 (Effects of Termination), 13 (Dispute Resolution), and 14 (General Provisions) survive termination.
14.10 No Regulated Data
The Services are not designed to store or process protected health information (HIPAA), student records (FERPA), or payment card data outside our payment processor. Do not use the Services for such data.
